Elder Law & Conservatorships

Each generation is built on the accomplishments of the generation that came before it, and that's what makes the elderly venerable and worthy of respect. Unfortunately, old age often results in people unable to take care of themselves and their affairs, and who become vulnerable to financial and physical abuse by predators and predatory practices.
Conservatorships
The need for a Conservatorship occurs if a person has not established an Estate Plan, and has becomes unable to make health care and financial decisions because of an unexpected disability. Such persons often suffer from dehabilitating illnesses, dementia or Alzheimer’s Disease, the onset of which occurs over a period of time. When such incapacities manifest themselves, and there is no Estate Plan in place to handle such issues, the need for a Conservatorship arises.
The Law Offices of Robert S. Sage represents clients through the maze of court rules and Probate Code requirements in establishing Conservatorships. We also represent clients throughout the entire proceeding which may include the establishment of a court approved estate plan for the loved one, and the preparation of accountings to the Court. The purpose of this proceeding is to ensure that the loved one receives the proper degree of care commensurate with his or her needs, and also to make sure that his or her estate is property preserved and managed.
